Louise is a technologist with a passion for data-driven product development.

As The Wall Street Journal’s Chief Product and Technology Officer, Louise led the WSJ’s full engineering, product and design teams with responsibility for performance and reliability across the iOS, iPad and Android apps, the digital e-reader app and The Journal’s web site.

Louise led significant upgrades to The Journal’s digital products, its mobile and web architectures and its data infrastructure.

She led The Journal’s product prioritization process overseeing the product roadmaps that served both the content and commercial sides of the business. Key to Louise’s work at The Journal was a successful push to develop frameworks that ensured that product development was carried out with a focus on more traffic and more subscriber engagement.

Among the teams that Louise managed were the WSJ’s engineering team, its product and program managers, the design team, data science, user research team and optimization and testing team. Louise’s technology leadership emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, transparency of goals, data-driven decision-making, testing, modern engineering practices and an awareness of open-source alternatives.
